Tiny pizza! This was actually a slice from a regular slice. I always cut Alexandra’s pizza in three pieces, leaving two strips and a small triangle, and this was the small triangle. Cute!

Fresh green chilies and a pack of spicy noodle soup from the brand new Woori Mart, a Korean food store in the Sholten’s Plaza in Quispamsis. Fantastic selection of stuff in this store and if you like Asian cuisine as much as I do, you’ll be in heaven.

This bit of abstract art resulted from cooling off two New Brunswick Russet potatoes worth of hash browns just after boiling them on a Saturday morning. Moments later, they were browning up in a cast iron pan.

Boston Baked Beans and an egg for a Sunday breakfast. I didn’t want to mess up more than one pan so I actually brought the beans to a simmer in a small pan, then just cracked the egg on top of the beans and simmered until set but with a soft yolk. I had made the beans a couple days earlier.

Pancakes for one. Made with just one egg and an unmeasured handful of flour. Just eyeball it, measuring kills, well, you know the drill.

Some of the eight feet or so of fresh pasta I made for a lasagna.

Miso noodle soup. Made with a simple mix of miso paste (available at Linja Oriental Foods in the City Market for $5 a pack), concentrated dashi stock, somen noodles and fresh green onion. Ready in minutes and a great appetizer. Also wonderful with cubed firm tofu instead of noodles.

Pears and blue cheese. Extremely complicated recipe but delicious. A classic match for an afternoon snack.
